Is there someone that is familier with a large
lump which is jelly like to the touch on my dog's underside and when I
gently touch it my dog my dog feels no pain , my vet tells me not to
worry
as this is a fatty deposit build up which is common in some dogs. I
never heard of any such thing. I am concerned that it could turn into
cancer, should I be worried? Thank you.

Bob

The only way to tell is to have a fine needle aspiration done by your
vet. It's worth it to find out. Dogs do get both kinds of lumps and
bumps.

Did the vet stick a needle in to it and have a look at the cells under the
microscope? I'd insist on it (especially given that this is his first one).
99 times out of 100*, it will be a lipoma (fatty lump), and so nothing to
worry about in the slightest (unless location makes it get in the way of
motion). These are very common (one of my dogs has at least a dozen of them
in different places of different sizes). The only thing is 1/100 times, it
can be something more serious that you're going to want to catch early.

If you're vet didn't stick a needle in (technical term being to 'aspirate'
the lump), then I'd probably call him up, and tell him you'd like to have it
done, even though you know its unlikely, you want to be totally sure. It's a
quick procedure and relatively painless.

*I'm just making up numbers here, I have no idea of the exact statistics. If
anything, I'd say I'm being a little too cautious with my numbers.
