Well, I never got a wild bird feeder.

So can I use my mix of Millet, Milo, Cracked corn, Sunflower, Wheat,
Calcium carbonate, Vitamin A supplement, Vitamin D3 supplement ?

I have been picking out the corn bits in it for them, until i find out.

Was short on $, and wanted to hurry up and get the last 2 tan mice they
had.

Have more salad mix, if not anyway.

Thanks, tim

I guess the (red) Milo is OK, according to google post. Thats the only one
I was really wondering about . They sure like old fashioned oats, and went
crazy over dried piece of pizza-sub bun ! They got litter, I just had to
temporarily remove it to get a half-decent picture ( cheap camera ).

The milo (aka sorghum) is often used as a cheap filler in alot of bird seed
mixes. It's perfectly safe for them to eat, but I tend to avoid mixes which
contain alot of it.

Wild bird mix - while not a balanced diet on its on (often too high in fat)
- is okay for them to eat :)
I use that as a base for my mice food, and I add things like pasta shells,
lab blocks, a little bit of cat food, and any cereals I have on hand.
In addition they get fresh fruit and vegetables :) They seem happy enough
anyways :)
They basically get what my rats get - but in small portions :)

(ever seen the time it takes for a mouse to eat a corn chip? I heard
crunching all night - and when I checked them in the morning, they had only
managed to eat half of it hehehe :D)

I do about the same for my mice and rats... basic mouse food mix (the ones I
use have some lab block in it), broken up bits of vegie pasta, whole grain
cereals (low sugar), some dog kibble (lower protien than cat food)... and I
suppliment with bits of whole grain bread, frozen vegies thawed, fresh
greens (no iceberg lettuce), cooked rice, etc.

As for cheese... they love bits of swiss, but don't care much for cheddar.
And if I try to eat with a mouse on my shoulder... I have to be prepared to
share.

I better make sure my mice don't see this post, otherwise they will be
begging me to get them some cheese :) (I don't tend to eat cheese).
