Even though I had to pull injured Rocky, Friday and I had a good
weekend - encouraging because next weekend is the Alberta/NWT
Regionals. Five Qs out of 8 runs, with the others being
"almosts".
On Saturday, we got our first Steeplechase Q - Steeplechase is
new to the AAC this year and this was our second stab at it.
It's a fun game, with all dogs running at one level - the rules
are a combination of Starters (no refusals) and Nationals rules
(20 faults for off course). The only contact obstacle is the
Aframe, so it's a fast event, usually run at a Masters Jumpers
YPS. Also on Saturday we got our Masters Snooker Title.
Today started with a Masters Gamble, we got the final Gamble but
didn't accumulate enough points in the opening, so no Q. The
rest of today's runs were all Qs, though - our first Masters
Standard Q on a tough course; another Snooker Q (I joined the
four 7s club - Friday and I did four seven point obstacles in
the opening, the dogwalk, but bobbled enough approaches that we
only had enough time to make it to #5 in the closing, still a Q
with 46 points); and another Jumpers Q, a speedy 29 seconds on a
47 second course.
Definitely a confidence booster going into the Regionals.
