I would like to take this time to tell you of an injustice of another
sort. A wrongful allegation in an authority field that many do not
think of. But it's not just a wronful allegation here Their negligence
actually hurt and abused the very beings that they were out to protect.
This abusive authority happens to be the SPCA or also known as the
Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
Why do I say abuse? It is really complex but horrible to think that
someone who calls himself an animal rights activist would bring such
harm on not just to an innocent family but the animals of which lived
with these people.
There was one such family in Northern Saskatchewan who recently
exprienced a string of horrible tradgedies starting the loss of their
home in a fire. The loss was devastating but fortunately no one was
hurt. But one neighbour decided to take advantage of it just a few
weeks later and called the SPCA Lying about thin animals and saying
that there was no feed. There had been no apparent reasoning for this
as the two neighbours had never had a disagreement. But the SPCA took
advantage of an already bad situation.
All animals were either of adequate weight or over weight and all we're
seen and cared for daily by at least one member of the family for the
entire two weeks and a half weeks after the fire with witnesses who
were willing to testify to this. But no efforts were made to contact
the family and any notice that was given was hidden in a spot not
visible to the family and appeared to be deliberately done so.
The animals were removed and sent to what Canadian Kennel Club members
would call a "genuine puppy Mill." A Puppy Mill that was known to sell
$10,000 worth of puppies each quarter and with sometimes the puppies
were released on not so healthy terms. This puppy mill ended up abusing
this beautiful registered chocolate lab by keeping her tied up too
tightly. She also contracted a parasitic infestion while there from the
uncleanly kept animals in that mill and it caused her to loose more
than a quarter of her fur (during the winter months). The puppy mill
decided to sell her quickly when she began to get sick so they could
wipe their hands of it, and they never had her medically treated. They
sold her as a registered dog without the ability to provide
registration papers - a direct violation of the purebred animal act in
Canada.
A reputable kennel did buy her and wanted her papers. That is how the
family found out about it. After careful deliberations with this
breeder and the Department of Agriculture in Saskatchewan, the dog was
returned to the family but not without major vet bills to return her to
health. One month later, the hair is almost full grown in but the skin
remains irritated from the event and she has not gained back the weight
that she lost in the trauma that was caused by their negligence.
For those who want to know who this puppy mill is to avoid, do not
purchase puppies from Cindy or Troy Andrews of Weyburn, Saskatchewan.
As for the rest of their animals, well it will be a long endurance. The
reports issued were filled with lies to cover the rear-end of APO Lloyd
Howden who did not exercise proper investigative techniques. The
reports were filled with falsities and lies and the story began to
change over time as they were approached each time. Names were even
wrong in the reports and they lied about the RCMP (police) involvement.
They refused to verify anything that the family said to prove their
innocents and yet they would not press any charge against the family
but no other animals were returned despite the fact that they were
cared for. They were all apparently sold by this Andrews family out of
spite!
The APO officer not only improperly executed his job but he also
threated the family over the phone and called them names. The only
thing that can be assumed as to the reseaning behind these attacked
from both the neighbours and the APO Howden was that the husband
collected old tires in the yard in hopes to build shelters (earth
Ships) and fensing for the animals. The family believes that this is
what the neighbour and APO officer was mad at. Not once were the
animals in close proximity of those items where they could get hurt!
Furthered correspondence wit the SPCA has proven fruitless. The family
has all but given up. They cannot imagine what kind of poor condition
their horses are in and do not want to allow their minds to even go
there!
Is there anyone else out there who has gone through a similar thing. If
so, we need to speak out. >> Stay informed about: Watch SPCA, they will hurt your animals |

Aside from that, there's no credibility to a story in which none of the
people, organizations, agencies, and businesses are identifible or named -
including the organization the poster is railing about.
"SPCA", or "Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals", is NOT one
monolithic organization, but a name which is used by hundreds of very
diverse and independent shelters, organizations, and agenicies. Most SPCAs
are local organizations and/or shelters, and many are privately operated
with no affiliation with Animal Control - IOW, they are without any
authority to investigate cruelty cases or remove animals from owners. >> Stay informed about: Watch SPCA, they will hurt your animals |
