I am looking for a female Speckled Amazon. I'm in Los Angeles, and will
travel up to 200 miles. Seeking a companion for a recently adopted 10 year
old male. I will be at The Bird Mart in Pomona the end of November.

Try some yahoo groups - there are quite a few full of bird adverts. Especially the ones called breeders.

I've never heard of a Speckled Amazon. Do you mean a Spectacled Amazon?

I do. I was unable to delete the sent message with the spelling error. I
did correct myself, and again mis-spelled. that message was deleted. Oh
well. BTW, do you know of any Spectacled Amazon females? My latest adoptee
is a 10 year old male. He was aggressive to the last (2nd) caretaker, so
spent much of his time without being held. I am somewhat parrot bite
tolerant, and he is mellowing after 6 weeks of frequent handling. He will
stay in his cage or on the playtop without roaming the room like my youngest
Timneh. If something goes wrong, his call is the loudest of the flock,
though delayed about 20 seconds after whatever scared him. No rush, just
keep me in mind if you travel the birding set and are somewhat driving
distance from Los Angeles.

Will do. I'm in So Cal as well. You may want to contact Omar's Exotic
Birds. They have several stores down here in OC and have many breeder
contacts. Good luck.

Omar's eh. The designer baby bird store? I'll ask next time in, just in
case. BirdMart is near and I know a few OC Breeder club members. Thanx
