Hi all,
I need eliminate some pesky mice from my house. They keep outsmarting
the traps and are becoming more bold and confident. Normally they
flash past giving - you a fright, but the other day I actually had
time to throw a thong at the buggers!
I don't have time for setting traps with baits and I don't want to
keep purchasing traps from the local supermarket. It's a little
embarrassing when you dump a pile of mouse traps on at the check out
and the pretty girl behind the counter gives you this funny look.
Anyway, I am interested in purchasing the Victor Electronic Mouse
trap. It's $60 Aust dollars on eBay - hard on the wallet. I haven't
read anything on its effectiveness. Can somebody who has actually used
it, give me idea of its effectiveness?...
Thanks

No idea. I do know that I have used d-CON Ultra Set traps, which are
covered, easy to set and totally reusable. No more embarrassing trips
to the store!

I've been having a lot of problems lately with mice. They were controlled
while I had my cat Photon, and they stayed away all last winter even though
she was no longer with us (RIP), but now they have figured out there is no
cat, and Muttley has only been able to catch two of them when he heard them
in his food bag.
I had a plastic tip-trap that would close a door once the mouse got in to
take the bait, and I put some cream cheese in it and set it on the counter
where the mice would frequent. Later, I saw that the trap was gone. I found
it, chewed up, on Muttley's dog bed. I don't know if he got it after a
mouse had been trapped inside or not, so he might have eaten a little furry
treat with the cream cheese.
Now I need to get some other traps, or maybe another cat, if I can find one
that Muttley will tolerate.

Be aware that your dog nay mot like the irritating noise; after all it
is irritating enough to keep mice away, why would dogs like it?

Why would she do that?
The oddest look I ever got from a salesperson was when I bought a couple of
boxes of birdseed, which we sow because our cats like to munch on the grass
that the seeds produce. She asked me if I raised birds (duh?) and I
innocently replied, "No, we have cats."
Only later did it occur to me what that must have thought...

Snow,
I am not sure if you are asking for advice or pimping Victor
Electronic Mouse traps that you sell on E-bay? If your question is
legit, I have no experience with the above. I use Riddex (that I
formerly referred to as Rid X) it is an electronic device that allegedly
emits sounds that will keep you rodent free. I did not have rodents
before the device. I do not have them now. I have 4 dogs and 2 cats.
Good luck to you. Riddex is on E-bay too, and I think it can only be
purchased on-line.

Hi,
Yes, I really am interested in the "electronic" Mouse Trap. I
mentioned the price because its hefty. I can purchase a normal mouse
trap for less than $1 or pay $60 (+shipping) for the electronic one.
If it doesn't work then I would only end up with that sinking feeling
of being ripped off.
I live in Aus and the only place I can pick it up is on eBay - as
oppose to the US where you could probably buy it over the counter.
That makes a refund so much more difficult....
Thanks for the replies, but I still can't find any evidence that it
does or doesn't work.....I'll hold off until then....
