This morning Liza did not eat her veggies or pellets etc. I came home and
gave her some simethicone pineapple juice and baby food which she only
took a little bit of. Her stomach is doughy, not distended or hard. Can't
notice any noises either. I am taking her to the vet at 8:00 a.m. in the
morning. Her vet broke his hip and is on medical leave, his wife is out
and we will have someone else, don't know this vet. Wish us well please.
She did eat a little kale while Jodie was laying next to her, my therapy
boy. Carla Liza and Jodie.

Professor, is Reglan for pain or for moving the gut? And do I just request
it from the vet? Carla Liza and Jodie.

Hi Carla,
Sending Liza and you good vibes. Let us know how she is doing.

If you're not sure about the vet - I've always trusted Dr. Effie down
at City Vet in Oaklawn (it's probably a bit of a drive for you), but
Dr. Effie is really a great vet and kind person.

Hugs,
Marie

Reglan is for getting the gut moving. Talk to your vet about it. My
vet gave me a bottle and explained how to use it. I feel, the more time
you wait to start the gut the harder it is to start. Then you are into
force feeding. 12 hours is already a long time for a rabbit. I give
simethicone & Reglan at the same time. I do this right away If there
are no noises, that's bad. The gut has stopped.

Well, this morning Liza was picking a little at her breakfast, seemed more
interested in getting it again as usual. She had spent the night grooming
and chinning Jodie. I think she is ingesting some of his hair. They are
both shedding heavily right now and she had some small poop that was
strung together. We are heading out tomorrow morning at 8 for the vet,
there was a problem with my job this morning so we did not go, and she
seemed better. I am still very worried and will give her some more
pineapple juice and maybe simethicone if deemed necessary. Thanks for
vibes everyone, she seems to always do this during shedding. It is like
pms for buns in my opinion. Sorry for long posts. And her pee is almost
toothpasty-looking, so I need to slack off of the kale with her. That
could part of the problem there, too. Carla Liza and Jodie.

It might be a good idea to get her urine tested for infection, and her
bladder flushed. You can do that at home with sub Q fluids. I'd say lay off
any foods with high calcium content. Kale is one of the highest.

We just came back from the vet's office. Liza had two x-rays taken. She has
a little bit of gas in her intestines and some calcified crystals in her
bladder. Was given a shot of steriod and some baytril to take home. Will
give her pineapple juice and I AM going shopping for some other kind of
veggies and will pray that she will eat something different. My girl had
her tail cut off from the urine stains and I have to stay on the right
course and feed her right. I keep shoving hay in her face. She has been
eating and pooping with the stringed pearls, most likely from grooming
Jodie so much now that they are both shedding a lot. Thanks for the
support. I asked about the reglan and metacam, the vet said that I can get
that if totally necessary. I want to build up a medical supply that won't
go bad for the kids, will always have simethicone on hand and have some
critical care if needed. She has always been having gut issues due to my
poor judgement and lack of availability in the stores of better veggies,
and bladder problems from the same. Carla Liza and Jodie. Jodie is going
next week for a general checkup, that will be good to keep up with. They
will have one every six months now.

I am shocked that your vet did not give Liza reglan. Simethicone will
quiet gas, but does nothing to mobilize the gut. If Liza is pooping
with the stringed pearls, reglan will cure that in a couple of hours.
Pineapple juice is not a substitute for a real motility drug.

I'm sure the steroid and baytril is for her bladder. I feel real bad
about her tail. Add home dried cranberries, (no sugar) and walnut to
her diet. The walnut has mega magnesium to dissolve calcium and the
cranberry prevents bladder and urinary tract infections. God bless &
good luck!
