Hi all,

Shannon (of UK BunFest fame, among other things) sent me a very sad email
this morning and asked if I could post something here. Her little Rascal
needs some serious healing vibes and I know how good you all are at sending
those out. Rascal has been ill for quite a while, but Shannon was hoping
she'd be able to avoid the very invasive surgery with a possibly tragic
outcome. Here's what Shannon wrote:

"Rascal is really going downhill here lately - she is barely eating enough
to
keep a bird alive, looks uncomfortable and really only exerts herself after
the
pain med from her anti-inflammatory kicks in. I told Guy this morning that
I
think the time has come ...

When the vets office opened, I left a message for Debbie (the specialist) to
give me a call - fully prepared to take her in for the surgery. My logic is
that as I am losing her one way or the other that I would at least give her
a
one in a thousand chance that the lump could be removed. Right?"

"When she has the surgery, if it doesn't work and they can't remove the
mass, and from what they have told me, removal is
going to be an all or nothing proposition; that we won't be with her when
she
has the medication to anesthetize her - and that could be the end of her
life as
we all know it. So, I will make the request that we are there when they
start
as if they open her up and can't remove everything, they won't wake her.
Then
the recovery isn't going to be easy for her and she'll require loads of
attention and help. Boy, I do hope and pray I get the opportunity to nurse
her back to health!"

Please, please keep Rascal bunny in your prayers. She really needs them.

Good luck, little Rascal. You've come through a lot already, I hope
you're past the crisis and ready to go home and relax.
