<Dignified grey boy climbs to the podium>

I am here representing my House to speak about "Da Boyz", the ferret
brothers Lindy and Fey.

They came to myhouse in March of 1997, and immediately ruined my life.
<quiet grin> But, mydad loved them, and since I love mydad above all
things, I tolerated them. Individually, they might have been
manageable, but they worked their mischief as a team...and they
appeared to believe that we cats (despite being clearly the more
intelligent species) were put on Earth to be ferret toys. They were
smaller, but they were fearless. I remember one time when Omar (RB),
who was a very calm and gentle kind of cat who would often forget how
tricky ferrets could be, had jumped from the floor to the ferret-free
zone of the printer table. One ferret held his attention by leaping
and jumping at him from the floor from one side of the table, while
the other (sly beast!), crept around to the other side and proceeded
to climb Omar's fluffy tail.

Lindy went to Rainbow Bridge in November of 2001. Without his partner
in crime, Fey was still a fearless ferret with a good sense of humor,
but he didn't terrorize us cats nearly as much. And, without his
brother to pull one end of little Boo while he pulled the other, he
and Boo were finally able to share time out of their respective cages
together.

Early in March this year, though, Fey died after a short battle with
cancer. The cage he had shared with his brother fell silent and the
end of an era had come.
