Hi, I'm doing a report on dogs as pets and need some questions
answered. If you could answer any of them, or direct me to a group
that would know, I would appreciate it. First, what are the top large
dog breeds that people get for pets, and why might that be? Any other
helpful inputs or information would be great. I'm sure if this works,
I might come back with some more questions. Thanks!

There are many factors which go into making the choice. Take the Greyhound
for example. They make great "apartment dogs," but are just terrible "guard

Dachshunds- six breeds - I haven't seen a lot in these groups on dachshunds. I have one of my own- a miniture wirehair named Whitney. Yes, she is AKC registered and bred, and became a champion in October of 1995. She is now 10 years old. She jumps on the couch (which is..

Question about bulldog breeds - I was watching the dog show on Animal Planet last night and noticed the "Bulldog" looked like what I know as the English Bulldog. Isn't there an American Bulldog also, that doesn't have the smushed up face and wrinkles that the English Bulldog...
