Sometimes Isis sits right at the edge of the carpet where the kitchen
begins. She sits smack dab in the middle of the doorway from my living room
to kitchen. This is my high traffic area. Of all the locations in the house
this is the one where I walk the most.
When she is there she expects me to step over her. She does not move.
Do your guys' cats do the same thing? Do they sit in the most inconvenient
place for you and then make you 'step over'?

I'd say that's very normal. My Kimmy spent most of her waking moments
sitting, actually hunkered down on a step on our staircase, necessitating
that we step over her every time we went up or came down.

Kimmy must've been entertained the way Isis is. I'm glad we entertain our
cats. I just paid about $340.00 for shots and annual medical exam and
bloodtests and food and bathing and extra grooming. I do as much as I can to
keep this 7 pound long-haired Tabby in comfort. If stepping over her every
single time I want to go to the kitchen is part of the total package then I
have no right to complain or grouse. It's time for me to take some pictures
and put up a web page so others can see all the ways I've made her life a
living paradise with no thought for my own comfort or security.

Mike you step around her right sounds like she has trained just they way
she wants and you are doing a good job of following the training

I think I perform satisfactorily in most areas of my training but I know
there's always room for improvement.
I still have some idea that I own the house but it's fading away.

Don't mind Matthew's reply. He's "special." We all tend to ignore him here. Matthew would have
you begin a regimen of controlling your cat and bending her to your will. BAD advice!!!
As soon as you "step around her right" she will stretch her legs and be under your feet again.
There is no predicting with cats. They have their own wills.
Just walk around her and keep your eye on her as you pass. You will both feel empowered and Nobody
will get stepped on! :)

Matthew,
I've decided I'm going to go the distance. I'm going to purchase a domain
name for Her Majesty and host her own web page. It's only another $50.00 a
year which I am even embarrassed to mention because how much money is too
much money for her welfare and glorification?
IsistheQueen.com? HerMajestyIsis.com? IsistheCat.com? I'm going to mull this
over, make a decision, and just do it! I want to post pictures (and movies)
of her in her various meditative states. She meditates a lot! I'll pick a
name tomorrow morning and welcome any suggestions.
