Thanks, Donna, for spelling "faze" correctly in context.

That's the same way as my squirrels. I got the same kind of BB's the plastic
ones. And after a while, you can shoot at them and it doesn't faze them.
Where are you that you don't have any squirrels?

Sorry about that!!!
I've been having a problem with my ISP... I could SEE this group, but my
posts wouldn't go through TO the group, via the Cox news server, for some
reason. I tried sending that message three times, without success, in
between some heated sessions with Cox tech support.
Apparently, sometime during the night, they found the problem, and fixed it,
without letting me know. In fact, I received an e-mail this morning from
them asking me to do some MORE stuff that won't help, based on past
performance, so maybe even THEY didn't know they had fixed it...
But when they did fix it, that somehow released the three attempts, and they
all showed up this morning... Note they were each sent at widely spread
timeframes yesterday...
And here's another test! If THIS comes through to the group (and I'm only
sending it once), then I can feel comfortable that it's fixed, if only for
the moment (this is a problem that has, in one form or another, gone on for
several years). And then I can notify Cox that SOMETHING they did worked!!!

I, too, try to hold back more. In fact, I accidentally sent that to the
group! It was supposed to be just for Donna's benefit. ;-) Some people are
very appreciative to learn something new; others are sometimes grossly
offended. I'm of the former camp.

This happens to me from time to time, and I am also using Cox as my ISP.
Incidentally, my email was formerly Cox, then it changed to Suddenlink, but
for some reason I still receive newsgroups through Cox. ??? Anyway, I have
frequently had the problem you described. Sometimes my mail will appear on
a "delay" basis, and sometimes those messages are just lost in cyberspace.
You might want to check your Outbox the next time it happens because my
"lost" messages are sometimes there with a message that they will be sent
the next time I connect. So, I have to exit and then restart (sometimes
just connect to the Internet and sometimes an actual reboot).

Yes, this has been somewhat of a recurring problem in the 7+ years I've been
with Cox. They don't seem to have a very good handle on how their newsgroup
server and system works, and have problems getting issues resolved. Their
e-mail and high speed internet service (and cable TV) has always been
reliable, with fast response on the rare occasion when there IS an issue!!!
But they seem to continually stumble over newsgroups...
In this case, the messages all went to the Sent Messages folder like any
other message I've sent; they just never got to the newsgroup... There
wasn't anything in the outbox... Hopefully, they were able to find the
problem in such a way as to prevent it from happening again... for BOTH of
us!!!

Here's one other possibility (although it doesn't seem likely since your
messages were responses and not from you as OP). That is, a number of my
messages simply disappeared. When I checked in google, they were there! I
finally realized that this happened when I inadvertently used an identical
title that had previously been used in another thread. My new message was
then attached to an old thread that was too old to show up on my list of
messages. After that, I tried -- but sometimes forgot -- to use more
descriptive titles that were not as likely to be duplicates. (I hope this
makes sense. ;o))

And I sure am glad to be back in the LOOP after being in newsgroup purgatory
for the last 24 hours!!!
Yes, I live about 20 miles northwest of Phoenix in the low Sonoran desert of
south-central Arizona... I've heard rumors of squirrels in Encanto Park in
central Phoenix, but I never saw one there, although haven't been there in
maybe 25 years, so THAT's pretty old news...
