I have been following the posts and was caught up with the one on calcium,
walnuts and sludge and/in pee? What is sludge how do they get it? how do
you fix it? and how do you know they have it?... Thanks for any/all replies
in advance.

P.S. I hope I am not a nuisance but I need to know about these things from
people who actually have bun buns..:)

Regards Kate

And you aren't a nuisance. You are asking good questions. We love
answering questions for people who really want to learn ;)

That's the only way you learn!
Here is an article on urinary problems that discusses bladder sludge:
http://www.medirabbit.com/EN/Uro_gen_diseases/Mech_diseases/Urolithiasis.pdf
and another:
http://www.houserabbit.co.uk/rwf/articles/calcium.htm

There is a lot of discussion on the role of calcium in vegetables and
pellets and their role in contributing to bladder sludge, which I can't
keep straight. I do pay attention to high calcium vegetables and only
feed one with each helping of greens and our pellets are low in
calcium.

Thanks for that..:)) I can hardly wait until I get my own Bun bun but I
need to feel more confident about the whole process. I have had Rats for
years and I inherited them before I knew anything about them at all. It was
a stressful time always hoping I was doing the right thing for them. In
hindsight though I did fine and they were the start of a beautiful
addiction...LOL I would like the same with a Bunny..:) Crikey that brings
up another question.... Would Bunny and Ratties get on??

Regards Kate

That would depend on the bunny...

there are quite a few bunnys available for adoption, and some are bonded, if
you are looking into getting more than one...

Sludge - Hi, I've had my holland flop for about 3 weeks (She is about 3 months) and today I noticed that her urine has changed in color (from rust to yellow) and was thicker than normal. I give her plenty of greens and carrots and timothy hay, but I also give her...
