Sexing Electric Blues

The guy from the LFS told me that the first sign that an Electric Blue
will be a male is that there will be four yellow dots appearing on the
Anal fin. Since my female has four dots on her anal fin, I thought he'd
just made a slip of the tongue and he meant that it would be female. My
male has a completely yellow anal fin.

I have been watching my babies grow and one of the juveniles with yellow
dots on the anal fin just tuned bright blue, so it is definitely a male.

What is the most reliable way of sexing Electric Blues before they come
into their full colour?

Some of my younger fish have developped a definite striping. Is this a
sign they will be males?

The best method is to wait for the dorsal fin edging to change in my
experience.
Males will have white edging where as females remain much much duller.
Be careful of using any colour foods and remove each male as it colours
enough to be seen
this way the next one will colour up
