Post subject: Salt Question
Archived from groups: rec>aquaria>freshwater>goldfish (more info?)

These posts always recommend 1 teaspoon/5gal, but my DOC Wellfish
Salt carton recommends 1 tablespoon/5gal as a general tonic.
1 teaspon of salt per 5gal works out to what % solution?

Also, how do i measure Salinity in freshwater tanks (0.01-0.5%) range?
Every Salinity meter i checked so far has a resolution or minimum of only
6ppt,
I believe that works out to 0.6%, i could not find anything that measures
less than that.
