Are there any concerns about rabbits and Christmas trees? We typically
have a Grand or Noble fir. The Grand Fir is native and limited to the
PNW. It has an almost citrus like scent. Plopp inspected the tree and
found a needle, which are soft, and decided to take a bite. I looked up
in the poison list and did not find any firs, so I suppose its safe, however
I'm not going to let him eat it.

Cocoa liked to nibble our real trees all the time, I mean bunnies live in
the forest and do nibble on them in winter when food is more scarce. My only
concern might be that the tree farm used herbicides or pesticides during
their growing season. We got our trees from the forest.

Nice to see you...it's been a while :)

That is good to hear. I figured it was harmless, but like anything else I
didn't want to see a change in his diet. He's finicky anyway, so I doubt he'd
gobble up the low hanging branches. Ours is most likely a farm tree, but you
can guess they grow on their own pretty well here.

Thanks! We're here lurking :) plopp had a bit of GI stasis which cleared
up a few days ago (or rather cleared out). He's just gone through
shedding, and was ingesting hair despite our efforts to keep him brushed.

Its almost been a year since the head tilt due to the inner ear infection
bout .. this Christmas should be a lot more fun for him.

I'm SO glad to hear Plopp recovered well from his ear infection! Sorry about
the stasis though. I'm glad everything seems to right for Christmas. Have a
blessed one!

I'm bunless at present as Cocoa passed in May, but most of my friends and
bun friends are here, so here I'll stay. Bye for now!

Everday since that bout is definitely counted. We know he was very lucky.

I know and we were reading all the messages. I can imagine its always
going to be difficult. When the time is right a new bunny will adopt you.

Arlette, you are not going anywhere.. and I also know a bunny will
adopt you too someday. I read in bunspace about xmas trees.. one of
them is toxic but at the moment i cant remember which one.. I would
love to get a tree that Dom can nibble on without any problems.
If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.
thanks
ML
