Our sweet little Pearl left us yesterday, passing sometime during the night.
It looks like she died peacefully in her sleep, curled up in a ball. It was
somewhat unexpected, and left us a little shocked. We were glad that she
didn't appear to suffer at all.

She was a tiny little thing when she came home with us, but she adapted
quickly to her new home, and settled in easily.

She liked to come out and be handled. When she'd want out, or smell
something good that she wanted, she'd stand up on just her back legs and do
a little dance around the tank to get our attention, sadly I never got a
picture of her doing it.

Every week when we'd clean her tank and set it all back up, the first thing
she'd do was go around and rearrange everything. She'd push and move the
shavings all over the place, pushing most of them to one end near her water
bottle which we'd then have to move back. She would constantly tip her
wheel over trying to dig under it, sometimes ending up under it sleeping.
We could sit here at night and watch her rummage through her tank, digging
around and moving her stuff all over the place. She was an extremely active
little character, and we loved her dearly. She was our little "Pearly
Girl".

I only had a few shots of her, but I think they are good ones, I just wish I
had more.

Farewell little one, you will be missed when we sit here at night, unable to
watch your activities any more.

Brian, Judy, and family,

Karma and I send our condolences for Pearl....I have a feeling that she and
Johannes are doing the hamster dance on the Rainbow Bridge...and looking
down at us with big smiles on their little hamster faces.

They sure do grab your heart....
We lost ours on Christmas day, and as much as we would love to have another,
we often felt bad that we didn't play with him as much as we felt we should
have, but they are truly special little critters. Our guy didn't ask for
much attention, but liked it when we did. I kept his wonderful home just
incase we change our mind.. We always thought of our adoption as a rescue
being that we have no kids to abuse it..

This might give you a chuckle..

This one always gave me a laugh too..

We give them good lives and we should feel great about that !!!
