Python "Clean N' Fill"

One of the best purchases I made. You can imagine the nightmare in taking
water out of a 63g tank (and bigger) and replacing. The only hassle I have is
temp matching the water. It always seems to swing cold or hot, and takes a few
minutes to get a stable temperature. I'd also prefer to let water sit in the
dechlorinator for longer, but it's not an option unfortunately. Fish don't
appear to be agitated though (just don't do HUGE HUGE changes if you can help
it).

You also need your tank to be higher set than the sink since it works
on gravity. >>

Bah, I'm fairly sure the tank is lower than the sink. That didn't even occur to
me.
Also the tank is about 30 feet from the kitchen sink, so I'd have to buy a 50
foot one for those 5 extra feet.
Oh well.

I use mine with tanks below the sink level. It works fine.

I guess I just don't have the pressure to get it going in the smaller
tanks then since it won't work very well in either of my smaller tanks, and
both sit lower. The water pressure would make the difference, I would
imagine.

Well I have a 100 gallon tank upstairs that is 18 inches deep and a
180 gallon tank that is 24 inches deep. The sink upstairs is a good
20 foot from the tank and the one downstairs is about 15 foot from the
sink. I ordered a 30 inch tube for both so that I didn't get my hands
wet in the 180 gallon tank, and was very upset when it didn't work on
either tank, then I got the idea that the suction tube was too tall,
and it was, cut it off and it works awesome, if the suction tube is
longer than the depth of the tank they don't work for $#!^. I don't
believe they work on gravity at all. I would recommend one to anybody
who asks. The first time you use one you won't believe how much
debris they pull up, and if watching it go up the tube isn't enough
wait to you wash the ring around the sink out when you get done!!!
oh and I also went to the hardware store and bought clear hose the
same diameter as garden hose and got the connections for the hose
which hook up exactly to the python stuff, then ordered the sink part
of the python system, and the suction tube, much cheaper plus I could
cut the tubing to any length I wanted.
