My sister (acting on advice from this NG) put vanilla essence on both of
her mice's heads. This somehow dulls their instinct of dominance. Also,
mice can't clean the tops of their own heads and need other mice to do the
job, so the mice may well clean each other's heads of vanilla. This will
hopefully build up their cooperative skills. As you say, at first
introduce them in a neutral area.
