"The Amish are the worst."? Is there any proof of that? Not that I don't
believe you: I'd just like to have some evidence, before I discard my
respect for the Amish. Gosh, it sounds like a throw back to the
beginnings of puppy milling!

I don't know what proof you need, but the Amish are not known for
stewardship of animals. Their field and buggy horses are worked hard,
buggies are often parked in full sun while their horses have no access
to water. And yes, many Amish people are puppy-millers.

Well, I don't need to be struck by lightening or stone tablets, but this
is not a fact that would have seemed logical to me. Therefore, I'd like
to do my homework before I begin shooting at the Amish. Thanks for
adding your findings on the Amish.

From the information I have seen, the Amish should more properly be
called the Ghoulish.

and how convenient that you won't meet any online to defend themselves.
from what i've read, there are a couple dozen big (and big in the media)
puppy mill operations run by Amish farmers. that doesn't make them all bad
people.
there are a lot more puppy mills run by non Amish people, they're just not
as interesting to read about. after all, puppy mills are depressing. but
throw in a weird religious sect and suddenly you have great copy.

I don't recall suggesting that anyone shoot at any Amish people.
However, what I posted about them is fact, verified by personal
observation and experience.

Of course there are more puppy mills run by non-Amish than there are
by Amish. That doesn't change the fact that puppy mills are becoming
more and more of a problem in areas with large Amish populations - -
because many Amish are puppy-millers. There are probably a couple of
smaller Amish puppy mill operations for every large one. No, that
doesn't make the Amish all bad people. However, I've heard some
stories from people who have left the Amish about how children and
women are treated. That, combined with what I know (seen myself and
heard from other rescue people) about the way their horses are treated
and their puppy mill operations, does make me think that the things
many of them do are in conflict with the religious beliefs they
espouse. Which puts them in the same boat with a lot of other people,
of course, except that the Amish are more obvious because of their
lifestyle.

Or unless they can use someone else's computer. One of the things
I've never understood is why it's not OK to have a phone or a car, but
it's perfectly fine to use someone else's.
