I have an 8 month old Pit Named Roxy. She's still in her puppy phase
and gets a little out of hand sometimes. Today when I was playing with
her she did this little puppy spazz out thing and did a faceplant right
into a tempered glass coffee table. She didn't yelp, just kinda sat
down and twisted her face up for a second, then started licking her
tongue out. I checked her jaw and head and nothing was terribly wrong
except she has a broken tooth in the very front. It was a little bloody
and appeared to be cracked all the way up to the gumline.
I was going to take her to the Emergency Vet Clinic, but I was told
they can't do much for dental problems. Does anyone have any advice for
me or at least some input to ease my mind? I am worried sick about her
and can't take her to her normal DR. Till tomorrow.

Thanks,
Kate

Hi Kate,

Both my dogs are missing a couple front lower teeth.
They don't seem to be bothered by it at all. I just wish I found them so I
could have given them to the toothfairy.
Cracked could get painful and cause infection? anybody?

My Thor broke one of his lower canines when he was inside of 2 years old, he
needed this one to be repaired.
I looked up the animal dentist who does the police dogs. It cost me $1200 10
years ago, but I have never had any probs with it, springpoles, chewing up
trees, hanging from brances etc.

Hope this helped

I took her to her regular vet today and they scheduled an extraction
for tomorrow bright and early, till then they gave me some pills for
her pain. I think everything is going to work out just fine, except the
dent in my wallet, but it's ok, shes part of the family!

Thanks everyone for your advice!
Kate
