Should I feed my young corn snake pinky mice or pinky rats? Whats the
difference? Should I feed mice or rats later on in life? Thanks.

First of all, I'm pretty new to snakes, so maybe others will correct me if
I'm out of line on this.

As I understand it, you want to feed rats because of the increased
nutritional value of rats over mice. Apparently rats have a more
favourable meat to bone ratio or some similar advantage.

The rule of thumb for size is normally to match the maximum diameter of
the snake to the diameter of the feeder. Generally though smaller meals
more often is a way to get more food into a growing snake.

Have you got some images of your snake posted somewhere? That might help
others determine what's right for your situation.
Cheers! Ian

I fed mine pinky until she was 2 years old , now I feed her small rats which
he eats just fine.

I've always read pinky mice.

I've never seen the size of a pinky rat. Are they about the same size?
