Post subject: PH+ Using Pool Products in fish tanKs?
Archived from groups: rec>aquaria>freshwater>goldfish (more info?)

I saw a nice 5Kg container of Sodium Bicarbonate at the pool store
yesterday.
I'm wondering if I can safely use pool store bought products like this in my
fish tank.
I'm worried they may have other additives in there, but the label only
mentions
Sodium Bicarbonate. Has anyone had a bad experience using pool products?
I seem to remember Ingrid mentioning in one post that you could use
Potassium Permanganate from the local
pool store, not sure it applies for all products, but they do have all kinds
of products there for cheap.

Also, what is the difference between using Sodium Bicarbonate (Arm and
Hammer)
and Sodium Carbonate to raise Alkhalinity or PH ? Which is better?
