Why would THAT be love? I'm starting to think you people are just
humoring me - EVERYTHING she does can't be love... :) >> Stay informed about: Nibbler's getting weirder and weirder... |

Jessie and Quark sit there and stare at me all the time. Of course, they
have a huge visual field, so while they are staring at me, they are looking
at everything else, too :-)
I think there stares are actually attempts at hypnotizing. "You vont to
bring me treats...; you vont to bring me treats..."

Jump is too smart! When he really wants me for
something really important, like a piece of
carrot, he knows how to get ny attention.
He'll chase after poor Merlin, nipping at his
butt. He KNOWS that he's going to get a rise out
of me. "JUMP! Stop that!... JUMP!" Then he makes
Merlin sit in the hay box, and he sits up next to
him. Then he runs to the fridge and sits up.
If I don't open up the fridge immediately, he
makes, you guessed it, poor Merlin do another lap
around the kitchen until I get the message.
I'm so embarrassed. This five pound rabbit is
manipulating me.

That's part of what makes it so weird - she's very active and she plays
with her toys ALL THE TIME unless she's sleeping, running, dancing,
grooming, or eating. So, when she started ignoring her toys in favor of
staring at my forehead, it kinda freaked me out. But, maybe she is just
hearing something or whatever... >> Stay informed about: Nibbler's getting weirder and weirder... |

Rabbits can't see directly in front of them, their eyesight doesn't meet
in the front.
If she really is staring at you, I'd take it as a friendly thing. Maybe
she's curious about you, she's looking beyond her toys.
I can lay on the floor and stare at my rabbit eye to eye, and I take it
as a sign of trust.

Jump's eye's are truly the windows to his soul.
When he looks at you, he looks you right in the eye.
I have compared photos of many of our rabbits. I
have over 200. Most will look at you in a sort of
side ways look. I have Quite a few of Jump's
direct look. If Nibbler does this, I would
consider it a sign of Intelligence. Perhaps living
a magician's life was a stimulant. I'm sure much
of it is genetic. Being the first rabbit and
bonding to me, I'm sure, had much to do with it.
He's much brighter than Merlin. And I feel you can
see it in his eyes. Merlin's eyes look tentative,
Jump's look confident.
I just bet that Nibbler is so bonded to Baerana.
She is going to be amazed.

When my bunnies stare like that I slowly blink at them and they blink back.
I've also taught them to wink. It's so cute. They blink, wink and binky off. >> Stay informed about: Nibbler's getting weirder and weirder... |
