Just to give you folks an update, because of the help you gave me...
I was mowing the other day in another part of the acreage, about 200 feet
from where I hit the litter a week ago. Saw two smallish rabbits scamper
away from the lawnmower -- they definitely knew how to hop, and they
recognized the mower as something to hop away from. After I finished, I
checked on the burrow. It's empty. Looks like the family made it, and
they're running happily around my property now. As long as they learn to
evade the dogs everyone will be fine (and the dogs are *not* good hunters,
so that shouldn't be too tough.) Thanks again for the advice!

Remus, this is an inspiring story. You must have felt like you had two new
kids. Your efforts to make sure they were safe paid off.
