Anyone have any idea how these guys would get along together? We want
to get an English Mastiff as our next dog. Probably not for awhile
though. Like 4-5 years. I like to think ahead though and was wondering
how a huge dog like a mastiff would get along with my Baloo. Baloo is
a black lab(male) 1.5 years old. We would probably want to get a
female mastiff puppy. I've heard mastiffs are couch potatos, but they
will still run around and be crazy while they are pups, right? The one
thing I wonder about is if she will go swimming with Baloo. Baloo
loves to swim and he enjoys having a partner. I've heard mastiffs have
sweet personalities (of course with training b/o their size) and once
our older dog Silvie goes, I would prefer to have a dog that will be a
better watch dog than Baloo. I dont want something aggressive, but a
big dog that may look a little intimidating. Baloo couldn't scare the
pants off a fly, but thats what I love about him! I think Baloo would
prefer a girl dog because he likes to have another dog to boss him
around. Silvie is good at it, she wears the pants in their
relationship right now and Baloo is just happy to be standing next to
her. Thanks!

Kristen

Hi,

I have a 2 year old yellow lab and we got him a friend who is 6 months now,
a Grand Bouvier Suisse (I'm sorry I have no idea what the name is in
english) he is great, we also wanted a guard dog, he is not at all agressive
but is already prooving to be very effective.!!! You should check out the
breed, they are very impressive dogs, but very calm.
The two are madly in love already and inseparable. Labs get on with any one.
The only thing is he doesn't like water!

Shouldn't be a problem..my 1 1/2 year old labs best friend is a 220lb
english mastiff. They play for hours, the mastiff gets tired but doesn't
stop Cooper from trying...
