This is a trait that can occur in mals,(pack tendancey) she is your
dog and u belong to her? Strange no. She is your partner and best pal,
not anyone else's. Mal's are very independent and with other family
members she thinks they are lower on the pecking order thats why she
does her thing with them when your not around or when you are with
them. Its her way of reinforcing the dominace,
she has to be shown that all people are higher on the pecking order
than she is, hard to do but once it is established thing will become
less tense in both camps. You will have heard it,it sounds dumb (Alpha
Sydrome)but thats the pack related system that wolves relate too, and
your Mal has the same breeding.
The same thing with the food, she needs to be re-assured that one of
those other people is not going to steal her food or even you? Thats y
she is a guts, but most Mals will eat till the cows come home if
allowed.
Get some advice from a reputable dog trainer or a couple of lessons
will do wonder for you both.
Lots of luck, but well worth it, beautiful dogs.
Mark.
