I have a female lab and from what I've read, bloat is nasty. So I always
make sure that I can have an eye on her more or less for 2 hours after she's
fed. If we're going out at night, I feed her earlier.

Anyway, now that her weight is down to normal, I'm feeding her a little more
food. She wolfs it down and of course gulps some air with it. Within 5
minutes she lets a huge belch roar each time. I figure that can't be good
as far as risk indicators for bloat.

How can I get her to slow down how quickly she eats so she doesn't take in
as much air?

I assume she's eating dry kibble? If so, feed her on a flat surface, like a
cookie sheet with raised sides. She will have to chase the food a bit to get
it all. Some people put large balls in food bowls for the dog to eat around.
I have one client who made a feeding ball with holes in it. The kibble is
put in it and the dog has to play with it a bit to get the kibble out one or
two pieces at a time. Feed smaller meals three times a day instead of just
once. I'm sure there will be other very good pieces of advice to pop up
here. Good luck!

In addition to what the others mentioned - try feeding from a
muffin tray, a little bit in each cup. Or try canned food
frozen inside a kong.

We measure her food every feeding. I don't wet it because then she's not
getting the tooth cleaning she would.

The ice cube idea worked great. She slowed down and nudged the ice cubes
out of the way and then had a fun treat with the ice cubes for the next 30
minutes.
