I guess most of you have heard about the electrical problems
we have been experiencing in Ontario and the Eastern
portion of the US. Well unfortunately, I was without
electricity from 4h30 in the afternoon until around 6h30
the following morning. Titleist has never been very strong, I
have always suspected he had a genetic problem, but he
died that night. I never really realized how very attached we
get to our fish, but it was really hard. His tank mate, Baby,
had been mad at us for several days. Every time we approach
the tank she will turn her back and swim to the far corner. We
went late Saturday night and got her a new tank mate, a little
orange oranda (no name just yet). Finally this morning Baby is
back to her wiggle dance and making her popping noises in
the morning.
I don't know what it was, but I would say she was sad and
missing Titleist. But then people keep saying they have no
memory to speak of. I'm starting to think they are wrong.

Hello,
I am sorry for your loss. It is not strange that you get attached to your
fish anymore than it would be your dog or whatever animal or human friend
Hopefully soon the myths that fish do not have a memory and that fish do not

ahh goldies are smarter than people think...they do bond...ask my
family....there is a difference in how it acts when I approach the tank
and when someone else does...even if it is purely for feeding
recognition....and as far as pain is concerned...if it has a nerve
system...it feels...maybe not with the emotion and tears...but even if
purely for the instinct to survive....it is why enviroment is so

It jumped out of the tank, stole a push Bike, and was last seen "fining"
down the road..
Well it can't pedal , now can it,, He took his boots of, when he jumped out
of the tank.
