Sad to say I came down this AM to a floating fish. No clue what happened,
she was fine at 9 PM and the filter was running when I came down. She was
around 6 years old.

I'll take a sample to the fish store to check, but I had gotten the last
batch of bottled water from a different store - it was open 24 hours to "gas
out" but, who knows.

I am sadder than the kids are.

If the water checks out fine, I'll get 1 or 2 little feeders and try again.
