What a mess. And to think the mutt mother is actually registered....
so much for registry validation in the Continental Kennel club meaning
anything.
A mutt puppy, that's registered! out of a mutt mother that's.. you got it..
REGISTERED!
here's the ad:
Dachs-a-Pom - 6 wk male, shots/wormed, CKC reg. Blk, will be less than 5 lbs.
Must see. $250. Papillon/Poodle - Female, CKC, 6 mo. Blk/wht. $200.

I'm just curious why the male Dachs-a-pm is worth more than the
papillon/poodle, unless the Papillon/poodle is older and starting to look
less cute and more like the mutt that she "really" is. >> Stay informed about: Local ads |

I just wrote to a golden doodle ad. Both parents are champions. I asked
if the offspring are also show quality. It will be interesting to see what
they say.
If they answer, my results will be a bit slow.
I'm tracking chair of the English Springer Spaniel Nationals Tracking test
in Lexington Kentucky.
I volunteered to help, but the people who were supposed to be putting on
the test wanted to participate IN the test, and decided that i was far
more experienced than they, and they may not compete in a test that they
are putting on. So they transferred the whole ball of wax and put ME in
charge.
I'm leaving now to head to Lexington and will not be back until late
Sunday night.
I'm committed, and have to see this out.
As is, they have not supplied me with enough manpower to put on this test.
They think because I live 3 1/2 hours away, I'm local. But I've already
drafted all my tracking students available and appealed on all the
tracking lists for help. No one is stepping forward.
So I'm leaving TODAY to meet with the ESS people and show them my charts
and TELL them I need six more volunteers at a low level to help, or their
test is NOT going down. If they want to hold a nationals they have to
provide a minimum level of help. I've got the skilled positions covered. >> Stay informed about: Local ads |

Actually both parents ARE OFA and CERF
I have to give them credit for that. But why would they take two champions
and breeds dem to each udder , beats the H*** out of me

Actually, she's in the test. I'm not identifying myself as a newsgrouper.
but I am very curious. I'm on several tracking lists with her. And she
seems unanimously disliked by all .. It's her self entitlements and taking
of valued spots, bragging about how unprepeared her dogs are, as she takes
positions from people who work hard to be there, and justifies it because
she pays for the privilege as much as they do, and it's their tough luck if
they don't get in. She's got everyone in an uproar and trying to change AKC
regulations to keep out HER. She's announced she's going to be an AKC
tracking judge and judges are already writing to the AKC in protest to
block that. And she already IS an agility judge. I'm sure that goes over
just as well in those circles. I certainly will never exhibit in any show
with her as judge.
I'm keeping a very low profile around mindy this weekend, even though I'm
in a very high profile position at the test.
Come to think of it, I'd better go take my breed shirts out of the suitcase

Well if I don't find people to help run the test. Mindy might not be able to
run. Wouldn't that be a shame? >> Stay informed about: Local ads |

I am NOT an AKC judge. I haven't even applied yet. I am simply doing the
grudge work criteria to become one. The duties of this weekend's test will
clinch the deal.
Then I will apply.

Actually.. It's important to me to succeed this weekend. I want this test to
be a success. Even for Mindy. I'm leaving 2 days earlier than i would have,
had I enough workers. I'm leaving early for the sole purpose to find
volunteers to make this test happen. The rest of the participants should not
be penalized because they club decided to put on a test larger than they were
able to support. Since the persons in the test may NOT put ON the test, it's
the parent club's failure, and not their's. But if it fails, I'm taking the
fall for the whole thing, and it will not look good on my judging application >> Stay informed about: Local ads |

Maybe because we were discussing Mindy's becoming a Judge.

Shades of Mi-ki, I think. Unless the ConKC (or whatever vanity
registry the breeder is using) puts on some sort of shows for the
"breed," there's not much chance of them being conformation
champions. That said, I'd be more concerned about health testing.
It might be interesting to see what they've done in that area.

it, but I wonder how she defines "responsible."

ConKC was at the last PetExpo I went to, promoting their "registry", and
claiming that they'll be putting on shows. I remember that they were
supposed to do agility trials, can't remember what else, although a
confirmation show for mutts would make it pretty damn interesting.

Heh. A show to confirm that they are mutts? (Not to be casting
asparagus at mutts, in case anyone is wondering.)

Why, yes. Yes, I am.

Because they are breeding to feed a market. Not the sort of thing I
would want to pay a breeder for, but I guess some folks are happy to
do so. I think it's irresponsible (both the breeding and the
buying), but at least some minimal health testing is being done, so
it could be worse.
