To everyone who read our post and to everyone who works for HOPE... we
want to publically apologize. Please do not use this post as an
indication of the true ability of HOPE to supply good homes for their
rescues.
Our email was very harsh and I severely overreacted. HOPE's interview
process may be tight and some people may not be as good with folks on
the phone as others... but I had no excuse to lambaste a valuable group
of people supplying society with a much-needed service.
I am much better informed now... mostly because we have just recently
experienced a horribly painful lesson about pet adoption and what to
request of the vet when having a rescue animal checked out.
>From now on, the first thing we will do with any new dog is have them
tested for Parvo.
We just lost a very sweet little guy because of a late diagnosis... and
we are heartbroken.
Once again please accept our sincere apologies for our previous post.
We now fully understand and appreciate the waiting periods involved and
the thoroughness of your application procedures.

NOTE:If you'd like to read the story of Chance you can visit the
memorial web site we have created for him here:

ATTENTION: Please, if you have a dog make sure your pet is fully
immunized and if they EVER have vomiting, diarrhea and won't eat or
drink (or a combination of two or more of these symptoms) please take
them to your vet immediately and ask to have them tested for Parvo as a
part of the exam.
