The Pigeon - Hello All. There is a copy of The Pigeon by Wendell Levi. It is a must have for anyone starting in pigeons. A reading of this book will provide the starter with enough info to raise pigeons like a pro. IMHO a must have tonyf

Lost Pigeon? - There has been a pigeon hanging around one of my bird feeders for about 3 weeks and today he/she let me get close enough to notice that he/she has these 'bands' around each leg. These 'bands' fit close to the feet, and they are white with black numbers.

another lost pigeon - Apologies to the group for yet another lost bird. I live in and have traced the owner to Wrexham, however, it would appear the owner has either since moved on at that address or died. Is there anyway the owner can still be traced, so we can reunite him

There is not much that can be done for a wood pigeon with an injured
wing. It would never be able to fly and would have to be 'looked
after' all its life. Not a nice prospect for a wild animal.
See if you can find someone to do the deed and put this bird out of
his misery. Wood pigeons can breed many birds in one season -
although only 2 at a time and they are not endangered.

I know its harsh but sometimes the best course of action is (as the
RSPCA) suggested leave nature to take its course
