Informal Survey about Bob Barker
If you've ever watched the tv show "The Price is Right", you know that
Bob Barker always ends his show by saying :Spay or Neuter your Pets".
But at times he really gets carried away. On todays show he said it 5
or 6 times. There was a veterinary student on the show and he
referred to the guy as "The king of spaying and neutering".
(Please answer this question with a YES - NO - or UNDECIDED)
IS BOB BARKER SPAYED OR NEUTERED? ______________
Please feel free to explain your answer or leave other comments below.

I didn't see the show but my quess is he got the signal from the floor
producer to STRETCH the closing. They needed him to do something
to fill those last few seconds.
Also with millions of unwanted pets, what is wrong with tellling
people spay and neuter their pets?

With millions of unwanted pets in shelters looking for homes are you
really going to tell us not to spay or neuter?
I applaud Barker for taking time on his show to remind people of this.
Why are you so against him doing it? >> Stay informed about: Informal Survey about Bob Barker |

You missed the point. The question was "IS BOB BARKER SPAYED OR NEUTERED?"
Written in caps. I'm all for spaying or neutering when it comes to pets,
however people? That question makes me think either of Edie or the pussy
wizard and I have Jerry killfiled so....

I have just killfiled you too. Obviously you can not follow a thread

How do you know? For all you know, Bob's beauties might have been acting as
a harem all these years and he might have dozens of children. I can't think
of too many things more desirable than getting to that age and having all
those beautiful women around.
Seriously though, I think he's doing something good, although he doesn't
tell you how lousy you'll feel when you take your animal to be spayed or
neutered and you see the pain your beloved pet is in after the surgery. >> Stay informed about: Informal Survey about Bob Barker |

That is nonsense, a myth, a myriad of Veterinarians will tell you they are
not in any pain after surgery. Think of the pain that homeless pets go
through, indescribable.

Really? I guess it was my imagination when my Deetoo cried as the pet was
carefully putting her into her carrier so I could take her home the day
after surgery. And I guess it was my imagination when she cried a bit as she
attempted to use the litter box the first few days. Animals can feel pain
just as you and I, probably more so because we usually have the intellect to
understand why we're going through pain. An animal just suffers in ignorance
and that can be one of the worst pain of all, not knowing why something is
happening.
> Think of the pain that homeless pets go through, indescribable.
That's a completely different reason for the difficulty that homeless pets
go through. >> Stay informed about: Informal Survey about Bob Barker |

You must have a really shitty butcher of a vet. All of my cats have been
neutered, for as long as I've had cats, and not a one of them has ever
shown symptoms of post-op pain.
You really need to find a decent vet. >> Stay informed about: Informal Survey about Bob Barker |

What was insensitive about my reply? He reports that one of his cats was
crying in pain for days after spay surgery. I've had several cats spayed
over the years, and though they experience some discomfort for a day or
two I've never had one cry out because of it or have problems using the
litterbox because of the surgery. If his cat did, then the vet that did it
must have been a butcher. I'd sure never take another cat to that vet.
The fact is that Upscale is trying to say that spay/neuter surgery is
cruel and barbaric and implies that it shouldn't be done. That's stupid,
ignorant, and irresponsible. If you want to jump on someone for
insensitivity, jump on him. It's people like him that are responsible for
the huge numbers of stray cats filling our animal shelters, trying to
survive on the streets after being abandoned, and being killed by wild
animals. If you love your cat, get it sterilized. To fail to do so is
cruel and irresponsible.
I'm so sick of ignorant idiots saying that desexing a cat is cruel, then
subjecting that cat to a lifetime of hormonal urges, needless agressive
behavior, fanatic attempts to escape to the outside to mate, and all too
often bringing unplanned litters into being.
Wake up. Learn to be a responsible pet owner. If you are so convinced that
desexing is cruel, then rehome your cat and adopt a goldfish. >> Stay informed about: Informal Survey about Bob Barker |
