I am a big fan of feeding dogs homemade food,
including what used to be called "table scraps".
Having just adopted a wonderful young Tibetan
Terrier from the local SPCA, now placed with
my elderly mom, we are working on a diet for
her. The stew Mom made for her other dogs
included onions, which some say are a no-no.
I give my own dog Innova dry food now and
then, but he mostly gets scraps, including fruit
and vegetables, sushi (I cook any salmon)
scraps from the corner restaurant, and even
processed meats (I worry a little about the
high sodium content).
We had a lot of discussion here not too long
ago about diets in connection with the food
poisoning events. Just wondering if anyone
can recommend specific books or websites
on this issue.
And just a reminder: you can get wonderful
pets for you and your family at the local shelter.
