We all love our dogs. They are not just pets to us but they are part
of our families. I have been doing a lot of research and have found
that some of the ingredients that are in our pet's food is not only
bad for them but can shorten their lives or even kill them. We now
know that processed food is not good for people so why are we feeding
it to the pets we love.

I found this recipe for dog treats that my pup loves.

4 cups whole-wheat flour
1/2 cup cornmeal
1 egg
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 small apple, grated
1 1/3 cups of water
Combine all the ingredients, except the apple and water, into a large
bowl. Add the grated apple into the mixture and then stir in the water
until it begins to bind together. Turn out onto a lightly floured
surface, and knead well. Roll out to about 1/4 - 1/2 inch thick. Score
the dough into small treat-sized squares (about 1 inch). Place on a
greased baking sheet and bake at 325 F (160 C) for 1 hour.

Here are some more treats and homemade food recipes

I have news for you.. all that baking "IS" processed.

I bake treats for my dog too, but I do not pretend it's anything more than
treats. He gets dog food (From a company with nutritionists on board) for
his main meals
