Hi,

I'm new here, and I wanted to share with you my site:
http://crochetcavycozies.googlepages.com. I make hand-made, knit and
crocheted, fleece-lined play tunnels and cuddle cups for guinea pigs
and other small animals. They have been a huge hit so far. Feel free
to check them out.

I'll have product lines for cats and ferrets soon, too, and I hope to
make products for rabbits as well.

They certainly look nice and warm...I can imagine a northern pig really
wrapping up in the play tunnel during the cold winter months.

Just a thought - what happens if one pig follows the other one into
the tunnel and didn't have the dexterity or sense to reverse out -
would it suffocate?
I personally don't think it's a good idea to have items like this for
rodents. They need to be put into the washing machine where we wash
our things and washing at low temperatures does not kill bacteria/
fungi. I always wash towels on a very high temp with santising powder
if they have been used to bathe a piggie.
I know people have beds for dogs and cats etc so I can see the appeal.
Just ignore me!!!! I'm sure you'll sell lots.

Many people use towels and other fabrics as bedding for their pigs.
These products are desiged to be washed in the same way. And the
tunnels are stretchy enough that a pig can turn around and leave if
another follows it in. I am currently working on extra wide tunnels
to accomodate multiple pigs--but i have seen one of my pigs chase
another into the tunnel and they find their ways out.

I do understand your concerns, though.

We have similar tunnels in use for our piggers. They love it. And if two
of them happen to meet each other half way, they can simply turn around
inside the tunnel. Both the tunnel and the guinea pigs are flexible
enough for that.

In fact, one of our piggies loves to sleep in it while lying crosswise
to the direction of the tunnel!

Michel.

They wouldn't suffocate - I doubt it's airtight! They sound like a good
idea to me and lots of fun for the pigs.

That latest message posted here under my name was NOT written by me.

Some spammer seems to be using my name to post his junk on this newsgroup.

Please note that my messages are only "on topic" (except this one).

Someone is hacking into the post address and posting under regular names
here....annoying...yes, but moves are underway right now to track him/her
down and when the offender is found he/she will be in for a damn good
thrashing (metaphorically speaking)
