Post subject: Good idea or not?
Archived from groups: rec>aquaria>freshwater>goldfish (more info?)

I lost an Oranda a while back to Dropsy. I had warning signs but didn't
recognize them before the pine coning showed up and he didn't make it.

His tank mate came down sick. She started floating and just started to be a
bit lethargic just before the floating started. I have done a salt dip and I
am keeping her in a bucket with airstone. Moving her daily to clean water.
She seems to be doing very well. No longer floating and eating very well.

Now my question. I am thinking of tearing down the tank. Disinfecting it and
setting it back up. I will keep the filter running on a bucket of aged water
so as not to kill it. I am also considering giving her newish tank mate a
salt dip and bucket treatment just to make sure the tank starts out clean.
What say ye?
