Good news - No more packing. BEar had his packing removed yesterday and they
did not repack it. He goes back in 7-10 days to have the sutures removed and
were hoping thats it.

Bad News - Bear is losing weight and we don't know why since he is eating
more than ever.

Bear is not recovering as fast as usual either this time. He ate a few
veggies but no pellets and seems to be in more pain (he is still receiving
pain meds).

They also are not convinced this abscess will stay away due to how difficult
it has been to treat. They want me to watch him very closely and keep in
touch with them

Hopefully we are close to the end of this ordeal and life can go back to
normal. Thanks again for all your support.

Kim

Fantastic. Fingers crossed.

How much weight? A lot in a short
period of time?

Perhaps it is just a water retention thing?

Sasha picked up 6 oz last week and
I know it has to be water.

It's good to see that Bear is improving, if only slowly. We'll be
keeping him in our thoughts and prayers that his recovery continues with
no problems during our travels.

Kim,

I'm happy for your good news, and of course concerced about Bear's
weight loss.

I wonder if he'd lap up some Critical Care or Nutracal. I'd love to
hear that your boy is getting pudgier.

Yes, you can, Kim.

And if that doesn't work either, IMO, it is worthwhile to syringe it
into him.

Actually I will be mixing it with banana baby food and then syringing it
into him. He won't eat the baby food on its own unless he is extremely
hungry. I will go check now to see if I have banana baby food (that is the
one he prefers) and if I don't have any I will run out after supper and get
some.

I liked the good news, Kim!

I'm sure he's sore, and I hope that's all it is. I know you're being a
good nurse.

Will wait for even more good news soon,

Rhonda

You're in Good Hands with Allstate - hi, I'm not sure how many are familiar with Allstate car insurance. anyhoo, about a week or so ago I was watching the same old drab commercials, the Allstate commercial with the bobble head frog and the one where the stapler crashes into the rice crispy....
