KINDLY CROSS POST to the GLOBAL AR COMMUNITY

My God, everyone: read further, and see what you have accomplished
by your years of support for all our campaigns and protests. I am in a s
tate of shock! Somebody get the "paddles" and zap me! This translated
press release is from a member of the Greek Parliament and a member
of the party positioned in power.

Press Release

Athens

"The New Democracy Member of Parliament for Athens B, Mr Aris
Spiliotopoulos, yesterday cosigned the framework of discussion on the
revision of the constitutional Article 24 (protection of the environment)
in order that a 7th paragraph be included that will provide a constitutional
basis for the protection of animals in Greece."

After the deposition of his proposal, Aris Spiliotopoulos gave the
following statement:

"It is unthinkable that in Greece in 2007, the protection of animals does
not have constitutional significance. Our country is already in last place in
regard to animal protection, and we are very often witness to despicable
actions of violence and mistreatment of animals, which in turn prompt
series of reactions from embassies abroad. I firmly believe that Greece
must no longer be characterized by such barbarity."

Please let this legislator in Greece know delighted you are. Aris
Spiliotopoulos [mailto:arissp@altecnet.gr]

If you wish, copy and paste this brief note of thanks to Aris; but your
own words of thanks and praise will decidedly have more impact.

SAMPLE: We thank you for your reform initiatives and display of
compassion for the companion, farmed, wild and captive animals of
Greece .

Love, respect and heartfelt thanks to you all!
