Funny shaped tank...funny shape filter

Lighting will be through uplighting using a series of small bright LED
"lights" buried in the gravel. Sounds like some sort of fibre optic
solution.

An interesting project, but the filtration has him stumped.

He is striving to hide as much of the engineering as possible.

Sounds cool. I would build the tank with an empty space in the middle, that
is where I would put the filter (I.e. sump w/d with heater etc. ). Have
the table top lift off for maint. and include 4 small flourescent light
inset in the top for lighting. Top top will have to be a little extra thick
to handle all the lighting, venting etc. Your top would most likely be
about 2 ft high depending on your tank hight. The bottom support will have
to be very rigid, or moving it will crack the tank. Let us know how it

Drill 2 holes in the floor to run the canister hoses to a canister
installed as high as possible (ie: floor joists underneath) as canisters
are not built to tolerate too much pressure. Alternately, use a UGF
(there won't be much of a fish load in there anyways). Maybe you can put
a potted plant on the 'coffee table' whose roots drop into the water (a
nitrate sponge to reduce your water changes ;~).
