Has anyone ever had success with ordering Frontline Plus over the internet?
The price just seems so much better. I know my vet would have a coronary if
she knew (I only ever bought it at the vet) but I am considering getting it
from Petedge.com
Anyone ever use petedge.com or another website for this? Is the product the
real deal? Any recommendations? Thanks. >> Stay informed about: getting Frontline Plus via the internet |

You do realize that your vet will have to know, right? You've got to
get a prescription from her in order to buy the Frontline Plus. Ask her
if she'd be willing to price match.

No prescription has been needed for frontline plus for a while.(Not
sure
how long, been told but don't remember) The independent pet supplier
in
the next town from me sells it and its much cheaper than the vet. I
haven't bought any yet since I got a free sample from the vet, but I
think I'll buy from them.
jw
I saw Frontline (Advantage and Program, too, I think) in Pet Supplies
Plus stores at least a couple of years ago, and it's been available
from various online and offshore sources for about that long as well.
Definitely cheaper than at most vets.

When you buy from a pet store or over the internet, it is often like buying
any over the counter drug. May have the same name, may look the same, but
will be a weaker dosage. When I was doing some flea control, I tried the
Frontline type of drugs, but did not have any luck. I finally bit the
bullet and bought from the vet--more expensive, but it did the trick. If
you need prescription strength, you are just going to have to go through a
doctor (vet) to get it. Otherwise, you may just be wasting your money. >> Stay informed about: getting Frontline Plus via the internet |

??? There is no difference in strength between Frontline (or
Advantage, etc.) bought from the vet or Frontline bought somewhere
else.

Since the makers of Frontline and Bayer will only sell to vets, the method
of where these internet companies obtain their product is in question. In
recent years they have bought it overseas, shipped it to the states and then
illegally re-labeled it. During the shipping it is not clear if they are
temperature controlled or stored unsafely. Many times when folks get their
meds over the net, they end up paying the same once shipping charges are
added.
Some vets will match prices, but people don't realize that the reason vets
charge higher on some meds is that they can't buy them in the large bulk
that the internet pharmacies do. In terms of profit centers, prescription
drugs and foods are the very bottom, so nobody is doing to Profit-Dance when
prescriptions are dispensed! Reality is that when mistakes are made in these
companies and Rx's are shipped to the client through the mail, there is
nobody to go to face to face to ask questions. We've had people come in off
the street (sometimes not even clients of ours) and ask us to look at their
prescription and tell them why it's different. If it's a generic and the
company has changed (as is done so very often) that pink pill may be the
same as the yellow one they got last month, but we wouldn't know. Forgot to
refill and now you're out and have to wait 4 days to get those heart pills
you saved 50 cents on? Wrong strength? Wrong med? I'd rather buy it from my
vet or have them script it out to a local pharmacy just for my own peace of
mind.

Yes there is. Prescription strength drugs cannot be bought over the counter
or anywhere else except through a vet. Now, it may be possible that certain
drugs are "declassified", so to speak, as a prescription drug, such as
pepcid and tagamet were. You used to have to go to a doctor to get these
meds, but they are over the counter purchases now. When Frontline first
came out years ago, to get the proper strength, ie the strength that would
actually work, you had to go to the vet and purchase it. It may be that it
has been re-evaluated and reduced to an over the counter med, but, in my
case, I prefer to buy all my meds from the vet.
If it is indeed the case that the Frontline Plus that I buy from my vet is
the same strength as a Frontline product one can get elsewhere, then I would
imagine that there probably isn't much difference in price. But it didn't
always used to be so.
Which brings up another question...from my vet, I purchase Frontline Plus.
Elsewhere, are you purchasing Frontline Plus, or just Frontline? >> Stay informed about: getting Frontline Plus via the internet |

No, there isn't. Read the labels. And Frontline is not a
prescription drug, by the way.

Frontline Plus. And Advantage, and Program, which also used to be

I know it is not a prescription drug, which is why you should read a
persons' entire post, as you would have known that I said as much. My
point, again, was that I purchase Frontline Plus, not a product called
Frontline. Slight difference in name, but sometimes that means a lot. As
for reading labels, well, you have active ingredients, and you have buffers,
and sometimes the buffers can make a difference as well.
Now, let's try this once more. Are you buying a product called Frontline
Plus or a product called Frontline? >> Stay informed about: getting Frontline Plus via the internet |
