Someone is trying to get rid of a Chorkie, of all things. WTF? The
dog isn't even 2yo yet, but the reason for rehoming him? Too many
animals. Why on earth did they get a dog in the first place, if
they had too many animals to begin with? Or did they get more
animals after the dog, and decided that the dog wasn't as cute and
fun as the new animals?
But, anyway, a Chorkie? My real question is, how do people say that
with a straight face?

Seriously. It's kind of disconcerting to see people advertise all sorts of
mutts with cutesy names, and to see people actually buying into it.
Petfinder had an ad for a 'Toy Miniature Pinscher', 'spade and housebroken'
with an adoption fee of $1,000. People are delusional.

One "brilliant" person on Craigslist advertised a Labradoodle for $1000.
When I wrote them letting them know that if their post got flagged, it
was because their price was too excessive for an adoption fee and
therefore a pet sale that was not allowed, they got angry and told me,
among other things, that they had spent $2200 to get this designer dog
(which, I suppose, might be a euphemism for "deliberately cross-bred
mutt.")
I am always amazed at how P. T. Barnum continues to be right.

That part, I understand.

That, I understand, too. I just am having trouble applying it to
this particular word, since it offends every one of my brain cells.
And it's such an ugly word. To me, it conjures up collapsing
tracheas, which is not so much a good thing, considering. Chorke!

Option B. Though A might be entertaining.

And sometimes it's people who should know better, too, which is
disconcerting.

If you build it, apparently, not only will they come, but they'll
fork over fat stacks of cash, too.

Aren't the teacup animals actually the runts? I am sure that I read
somewhere that at least one teacup dog breed was actually whenever a dog
had a runt.

Damn boring people. Option A would be vastly more entertaining.

I'm seeing a lot of these at the dog park. When asked what kind of dog
theirs is, they'll come up with some sort of crazy-ass name, like that means
something. Not the same, but someone who ought to know better is
specifically looking for a mis-mark Dogo puppy. Last I checked, she's
bringing a male Dogo puppy to join her male Boxer puppy.

Apparently. Although, this being a second hand dog, I don't know what
they're thinking. Besides, what the heck is a toy Min-Pin anyway. A
regular min-pin is a small enough dog as it is.

Of course, I get odd looks when I say "Flat-Coated Retriever"! I expect
that out of the Petsmart clerk and JQP. I don't expect that from a
Golden owner involved in a dog sport. Did they not read their breed's
history?

A couple of months ago I saw an ad in the local paper for "Bernese
Border" pups (Bernese Mt Dog x Border Collies). Unless the BC parent
was a tri or tri-factored, I bet they'll look like big-boned black &
white BCs. Probably reasonably cute but I'm not sure what's the point
of crossing those two breeds.

I've gotten a few in classes. They've all been tri. Don't know what
the BC parent was though.
