Archived from groups: rec>aquaria>freshwater>goldfish (more info?)

I am a beginner goldfish keeper. I am doing well, reading books and
learning how to best care for my goldfish. Well, I had intially
purchased 10 goldfish for my 29 gallon tank.... I know now that this
is way too many fish for the tank. I listened to the pet store
attendent when I first purchased the fish. She said that I need two
gallons of water per goldfish. I need to get rid of a few fish. I want
my fish to be healthy and live as long as possible, but the crowding
causes me to do frequent water changes, and I can't seem to get the
ammonia levels down. Please respond ASAP if you would like these free
goldfish. I love them all but I am willing to part with my 3-4 inch
comet gold with black spots, 2-3 inch black moore, and 3-4 inch tiger
colored fancy fantail, and 2-3 inch black and yellow bubble eye
fantail, and a 3-4 inch all white fantail. I will be posting an add in
my local newspaper if I don't get any responses here. I am located is
SC, USA.

In 29...maybe 2 goldfish. You need to get rid of at least 8.
