Hiya all
I just got my first pet mouse, and i have a question in egards to food.
Regular mouse food is expensive and kinda hard to find (bu i'll get it
if i have to). Can i use the feed marketed for guinea pigs or rabbits?
or is the mouse stuff best to use?

Mice are omnivorous, but guinea pigs or rabbits are strictly
herbivorous. I doubt that guinea pig or rabbit food would be
nutritionally adequate for mice. I also doubt they would want to eat
it. I used to buy a kind of mouse food that had a few of those alfalfa
pellets mixed in, and the mice would eat everything else and leave those.

pig or rabbit food is dearer than making your own mouse food and not as
nutritious.
Get some wild bird food, mix it with normal bird seed, millet or similar and
feed your mouse on this, it works out much cheaper given that wild bird food
is about £1.50 for 3 Kg here in Britain, which works out at about 75 cents a
pound over there....a pound of food will last one mouse a month or more.
