Archived from groups: alt>pets>reptiles>snakes (more info?)

We somehow inherited a small ring neck - we think it may have hitched a ride
on our daughter's soccer bag. We found it next to the bag the next morning.
We're in Southern California.

It's about 10-12 inches long and about the thickness of a round power cord -
about a 1/4 inch diameter.

We're clueless if this snake can be kept as a pet or should just be let
loose. If you can keep it, what and how do you feed it?

Can't seem to find too much in the way of online resources about the snake
(except to help identify it)and information at the libraries is also rare.

Any help woudl be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Most petshop snakes are taken from the wild anyway... :-(

I'd say, adopt one or buy one from a private person who had
babies.
