Hi everyone, I thought I woulod give an update on the buns since we have not
been around much the last little while.
We are now the proud bun parents of 12 little bunny rascals. (Yes Beth, it
is definitely addictive). When we adopted Precious in May, we became
familiar with the local shelter that a very nice couple started in their
home for small animals and birds. Since then we have become good friends
with them and we are now volunteers as well, including fostering and any
other stuff they need help with.
Here goes:
Zoe (Florida White), our first bunny, is the family official bun
corresondent
Tabitha (Dutch), a little nervous but loves her stomach
Tiffany (American Fuzzy Lop), happy go lucky (we almost lost her in August
after her spay - we have since got a new vet)
Bugsy (Holland Lop- rescue bunny), not a cuddler but a great happy go lucky
bun (its all about the food)
Honey (New Zealand - rescue bunny), likes to cuddle, hates being picked up
and definitely enjoys her food too
Teddy (Netherland Dwarf, sealpoint), a little spark plug with energy to burn
Napoleon (chocolate mini rex - rescue bun), has been sickly but is holding
his own; he has probably the nicest personality of all our buns
Gracie (large lop - rescue bun), a little shy but cuddly if in the mood;
likes to stamp her feet and doesn't like her dad
Snuggles, (white lop - rescue bun), very outgoing and cuddly, henced the
name, loves her food and likes to throw her toys around
Pavlina (lionhead - rescue), very nervous but is getting better
Bailey (Netherland dwarf - rescue bun), this little 1.8 pound full grown
buzzsaw likes to cuddle with his mom and growls (or more like a squeek)
Pepper Ann (large lop - rescue bun), kinda laid back but at times a little
tentative
As you can see most were rescue buns and ended up with up for various
reasons.
We are trying some bonding sessions. The most promising is Bugsy and Honey
although Zoe and Bailey are potentials. Napoleon seemed comfortable with
Gracie but I have kept him seperate since he got really sick in late
September. Tabitha and Pepper Ann are not loikely to bond as they are very
nervous when other buns are close and tend to lash out if not supervised.
Debbie's health is still not great but we are ever hopeful. And me, well I
am the foodgiver, meds dispenser, and general jack of all trades. Its busy
but I enjoy the buns.
We have fostered a number of buns for short terms as well. We even fostered
a guinea pig for a couple of days, our first experience.
As most of you know, we lost Precious in June while she was having surgery
and we lost our little hedgehog a month or so ago - the downside to having
pets.
Hopefully I haven't bored you all. All the buns are on Bunspace if you want
to see their adorable little faces and read their bios.
Regards,
Joe for Debbie and the gang
p.s. Our 13 year old dog Nakita continues to battle her heart problems.
Dillon the cat is doing good in spite of being a 14 year old diabetic and
Misty our 12 year cat continues to be temperamental. >> Stay informed about: Family Update |
