Last week Dylan's thusfar minor respiratory problems took a turn for the
worse. By Saturday he was sicker than I've ever seen a rat, not wanting/not
able to eat or drink at all. Naturally I rushed him to the vet, who examined
him extensively, and gave him an injection which ought to make him feel
better for a day or two. But Dylan didn't appear to feel better at all,
although he did start to eat small amounts of porridge again.

Today he still showed no signs of improvement, and it became clear to me
that he wouldn't get better. So tonight I returned to the vet to have him
put to sleep. :'( Adieu, my Dillempie.
