Pigeon In DoveCote

Hi,

Have just erected a 6 nest box "traditional" Dovecote and have decided
that I would like to attract local pigeons. Is it possible to do
attract pigeons/wood pigoens to nest in it? I have had to cut down two
lots of very established Ivy from my garage where wood pigeons nested
last year and I am feeling a little guilty. Or would it be better to
purchase doves? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
