Looking for any other dobe owners in the S.D. area. There seems to be
very few. I'm wondering if there are even any breeders of dobes
around So.Cal. I'm considering becoming a breeder myself in the
future, because these truly are one of the best breeds, family dogs,
companion dogs, therapy dogs, etc....

Have you contacted the Dobie parent club or any regional/local Dobie clubs?
Have you attended any dog shows in your area?
Have you thought of joining a local kennel club?
As you probably know, the people on this list take breeding very seriously
and are more than willing to give people good basic information about the
many things breeding involves. First question will be, "What makes your
dog/bitch worthy of breeding?"
If it is breeding quality, what health testing will you do? etc., etc.

Yep. And there are a good number of excellent breeders in the San Diego
area already. The best known is probably Montwood, Vic Monteleon's
dobermans. Vic's wife runs a huge rescue for the many poorly bred and
unwanted dogs in that area, and Vic is one of the world's experts on
dobermans--inventor of the Working Aptitude Certification (which was
then adapted by the ATTS), originator of the Doberman Longevity program,
now copied by many other clubs, and co-founder of the Agility Top 20
program, past President DPCA, the list is endless.
